The government of India and the Ministry of MSME have launched several unique government schemes and planned programs to enrich the development of MSMEs in India. The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises has launched several Government schemes for MSMEs to give them more support and a program for triggering more development.

Latest Schemes for MSMEs:
a) Skill Upgradation and Mahila Coir Yojana
Skill Upgradation & Mahila Coir Yojana (MCY) is one of the key schemes under the Scheme Coir Vikas Yojana earlier it was known as Coir Plan (General) scheme which provides development of domestic and export markets, skill development and training, empowerment of women, employment/entrepreneurship creation and development, enhanced raw material utilization, trade-related services, welfare activities for the coir workers, etc.
b) Export Market Promotion
Coir Board is implementing the Central Sector Scheme of Export Market Promotion with a view to improving the export performance of the Indian Coir Sector through various export market promotion activities.
c) Development of Production Infrastructure
Coir Board is implementing the plan scheme ‘Development of Production Infrastructure’ with the objective of providing modern infrastructure facilities to coir production units, resulting in improvement of productivity and quality and in the creation of employment opportunities especially for women in the rural areas.
d) Domestic Market Promotion
Domestic Market Promotion is one of the major functions envisaged under the Coir Industry Act 1953, Under the Scheme, the Board is undertaking various measures for popularizing coir and coir products and expanding the domestic market.
Popular Schemes for MSMEs:
a) Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
PM Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, wherein Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency Bank or MUDRA Banks provide loans at low rates to micro-finance institutions and non-banking financial institutions, who in turn provide low-interest loans to MSMEs.
b) Financial Support to MSMEs in ZED Certification Scheme
Focused on existing and new manufacturing units, ZED or Zero Defect and Zero Effect’s mission is to encourage manufacturers to create better products, with high quality and zero defects. The government scheme will provide both financial support, and technology and tools to ensure zero defects in their products.
c) Design Clinic for Design Expertise to MSMEs
Design and innovation are critical for any sector, and every MSME should have a design-centric approach to solve the problems of their niche. To encourage and inspire small businesses to experiment and try out new designs for their products, the MSME Ministry has created a Design Clinic for inducing design-related expertise for MSMEs.
